Terms of Service

Last updated: January 1, 2026

1. About these terms

Tradr is operated by Tradr Pty Ltd (ABN 91 563 765 407) (Tradr, we, us). By creating an account or using the Tradr website or app, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Tradr.

2. What Tradr is

Tradr connects builders, homeowners, tradies and apprentices. Tradr is a marketplace only. We are not a builder, employer or party to any job or contract between users, and we do not supervise or guarantee any work, quote, payment or user.

3. Accounts

  • There are four account types: Builder, Homeowner, Tradie and Apprentice. Each account has one role. Builders and Homeowners are together called Hirers.

  • You must be 18 or over. Apprentices and pre-apprentices can join from age 14 with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, and under-18s can only use the Apprentice role.

  • You must give accurate information, including your real location, keep your login secure, and you are responsible for everything done on your account.

  • Information on profiles (trade, ABN, licences, insurance, experience) is declared by the user. Tradr does not check it. Hirers should confirm licences and insurance themselves before hiring.

4. Jobs and quotes

  • Hirers post job ads. Tradies send quotes using Tradr’s quote template. Quotes do not expire, and a quote is not binding until the Hirer accepts it. Once accepted, the contract for the work is directly between the Hirer and the Tradie.

  • The quote template is a convenience, not legal advice. Users must make sure their arrangements meet the law for their job (for example, a written contract for domestic building work).

  • Keep quotes, messages, job tracking and completion on Tradr. Do not move a job or conversation that began on Tradr off the platform to avoid credits.

5. Payments

Tradr does not process, hold or release payments for jobs. The Hirer pays the Tradie directly.

  • Deposit: a Tradie may ask for a deposit for materials of up to 30% of the quote price. Where the law sets a lower limit (for example, Victoria’s limits on deposits for domestic building work), the lower limit applies.

  • Final payment: when the work is finished, the Tradie marks the job complete in the app, which issues the invoice. The Hirer must pay within 3 business days and must raise any genuine issue with the Tradie through the app within that time.

  • Late payment: late payments may be recorded on the Hirer’s profile, and we may suspend accounts that do not pay.

  • No-shows: if a Tradie does not turn up on the agreed start date, they must contact the Hirer through the app to book a new day. If no new day is agreed within 3 days, the Hirer may cancel and the Tradie must refund the deposit within 7 days, less the cost of materials already bought (with receipts).

Tradr cannot refund, reverse or force any payment, and cannot decide disputes between users. Users can contact Consumer Affairs Victoria, the Building and Plumbing Commission, VCAT or their state’s equivalent.

Tradr does not charge a commission on jobs. Tradies are responsible for their own tax.

6. Credits and subscriptions

  • New members get 50 free credits. Credits are used to apply for a job (1), send a message (1), send a quote (5) and boost a profile (15).

  • Credits can be bought as one-time bundles or through a subscription. The price shown at purchase applies, and prices may change.

  • Credits do not expire. Credits are not refundable, except where the law requires. Free credits have no cash value.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the app and it takes effect at the end of the billing period.

7. Reviews and reliability

  • Users can review each other after a job. Reviews must be honest and about a real job.

  • Tradr shows reliability information, such as whether Hirers pay on time, based on information users provide. This is not a credit report.

  • We may remove reviews that break these terms. Fake or paid-for reviews are not allowed.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload (including Tradr Tok videos). You give Tradr a licence to host, display and use it to promote Tradr, including in marketing and on social media. Your content must be your own genuine work and must not be illegal, offensive, misleading or defamatory, or include other people’s private information without their consent.

9. Rules

  • Do not use Tradr for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, and do not harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.

  • Do not post fake jobs, quotes or reviews, impersonate others, scrape data, or interfere with the app.

  • Tradies must hold the licences and insurance their work requires. Hirers must give accurate job details.

  • Tradr is not an employer or training provider. Anyone who takes on an apprentice must follow employment, training and child safety laws (including working with children checks) and keep all communication with under-18s on Tradr.

10. Suspension

We may suspend or close an account for breaking these terms, repeated non-payment, safety concerns or fraud. You can close your account at any time.

11. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, Tradr is provided “as is”. We are not liable for work done by tradies or for dealings between users, including defective work, damage, injury, delays, non-payment or lost profit.

Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of [AUD $1,000] and the fees you paid us in the last 12 months.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will notify you in the app. Continuing to use Tradr means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
